Imagine you are a prophetess. You are given 2 minutes to speak to the entire Jewish people and say whatever you'd like. What is it that's preventing Mashiach from coming? What do we need to change to make our ideal world? Be as specific as possible.
A lot of things are preventing Mashiach from coming today. One of it is Shabbos. Hashem wants the entire Jews to keep one Shabbos and he will bring Mashiach. Also, every day someone in the world does something wrong such as killing, kidnapping, etc. Hashem not only wants one Shabbos but he also wants a peaceful day withour anyone doing something wrong.
Throughout the world, there are many different aspects as well as people that are constantly preventing Mashiach from coming. For starters, Hashem wants ALL the Jewish people to come together and all keep Shabbat. Additionally, there are many people in the world have evil ways to them and Hashem is waiting for everyone to finally be good and treat each other well. However, that is a very high expectation that will not likely happen which is why we need Mashiach to come. Overall, I think we all need to focus on our selves, not on other people, and try to become the best person we possibly could...we should live up to our expectations and prove to Hashem our worthiness. If everyone focuses on fixing themselves and becoming a better person, Mashiach is more likely to come at a sooner time.
Preventing Mashiach from coming shouldn't happen,it's our savior. You may think that you're not ready but in reality its because you're scared. Hashem knows what is best for us and this is it. Its our duty to prove to hashem that we deserve Mashiach, in order for it to come quicker. In order for Mashiach to come your need to follow hashem's laws to your best ability, treat others the way that you would like to be treated and always keep an open mind that Mashiach can come at any point in time. Hashem is creating a world of tranquility and peace, we don’t know exactly what will happen when we are there but we know that we will be extremely satisfied. We aren’t on a high enough level yet to understand the importance of Mashiach, if we work on uniting and becoming the best version of our selves, Mashiach will hopefully come at the right time. -Daphna Ansel
There can be many things preventing Mashiach from happening, and if you think about it, its really all our faults some way or another. Maybe its stealing. Maybe its not being nice to the people we know. Maybe its not honoring our mothers and fathers with the upmost respect they deserve. Lying? Not keeping Shabbat to the correct standards? Not keeping kosher to the correct standards? Tznuit? Why mashiach isn't coming can be one reason of multiple things. Its our job to try and find that reason and figure out how to fix it. It's not fair that we are preventing someone from living and saving us from galoot when it can be the most minuscule thing stopping him/her from coming. If we all came together, not just during times of terror or sadness, hashem would notice we care about each other and we deserve mashiach and that were good together as the jewish people. I think if we all work hard and try to better ourselves as jews a little at a time, but not loose who we are as a person, Mashiach may come sooner then we think.
Rebecca Sherman The Jewish people are preventing mashiach from coming I know it sounds very sad that we are the cause but it is true. We don't act as one nation if we would try to not talk bad about each other but rather help each other it would come faster we really need to act as one nation.
there are many thing that are preventing mashiach from coming today. Some of the reasons are that some people are trying to calculate when mashiach comes. Another reason is that the Jews do not deserve mashiach yet because not all of us do enough teshuva. -Eliana Goldstein
We do not know how many things are preventing mashiach. It could be one thing or it could be hundreds. All we know is that we are one nation and we have to stick together in the good times, not just the bad. We are one nation, but there are so many different views on halachot that we split ourselves up into different categories. I think that is the main thing preventing Mashiach from coming. I believe the entire jewish nation has to come together and there should be no more groups like reform, conservative, etc. I think that is the main thing preventing mashiach, but as I said before we don't know. We are not nearly on the same level as Hashem. There could be hundreds of reasons why Mashiach is not coming that we might not know of that Hashem knows. The entire Jewish nation wants Mashiach to come, so then why do we only unite in the bad times. We should always be united. My teacher told me once that everyones neshamot were at Har Sinai when Hashem gave us the Torah. If that is true then how did everyone split into so many different sections with different views? We all "saw" the Torah being given to Moshe so what happened between then and now that everything has turned out the way it did? I also always learnt that Hashem does everything for a reason, so maybe all that is happening now is to help the Jewish nation figure out what we need to do in order to bring Mashiach. no matter what Hashem's big picture is we all want Mashiach, but many of the Jews don't want to do their part. I think that if everyone does their part, not just follows what everyone else is doing, and they are really committed, I think Mashiach would come. However I also think that since we are all put in these groups with the specific views on specific things, I think we all have to believe in the same views and then do our own part together. If we all do our part and are still in these groups, we will all do what our group thinks and then everyone will be doing actions that contradict another action and maybe even cancel it out. Therefore I think we all have to come together and believe in the same views and then each do our part for Mashiach to come.
I think what is preventing this Messiah is everyone needs to stop speaking loshan hora and people need to be nicer to one another also people need to stop judging other people. because if everyone loves everyone then the world would be a happy place that everyone would want to live in and everyone would be happy and if everyone loved each other then no one would speak loshan hora. so i think whats preventing Messiah is that everyone needs to love more
The environment everyone need to relize that there is a god in this world and he is watching over us and protecting up but there is that one part that is up to us and we have to fight and relize what we are living for. To prove to God that we deserve mishiach and in our generation it's hard to because everything around us is so unpure and If we just stop and relize that we are not living the way we should be mishach will come and we will deserve it -Taylor Abotbol
I think their are defiantly many factors that go into the arrival of Mashiach but i think the one underlying one is prejudice. We live in a world where their is so much stereo type and injustice. People get judged for things like the pigment of their skin, and things like their religion and morals. People get judged for their food choice and their hobbies and their clothes. We live in a society that expects a lot of us and i think if we just took away the status quo and let everyone be themselves without constantly judging, and let everyone be themselves without any expectations i think that would be a time of peace and would be a time for Mashiach to come. - Naomi Gottlieb
The reason Mashiach isn't coming is because we are not ready for his presence. We're not ready for everyone to keep Shabbos, we're not ready to pick up our while life and move to Israel, and we're definitely not ready to change the way we live our lives. Maybe if we wanted Madhiach then he would come, but we don't quite know what to expect. There are many prayers asking for Mashiach's arrival and for peace, but the thing holding us back is that we really don't know what's going to happen when Mashiach really does come. Maybe if we knew what to expect we would want it more. I personally love my life and can't imagine living it any other way. And I'm sure there are plenty of others who cry for Mashiach to come everyday because they aren't as fortunate as me. Maybe if we really knew what was to come we would actually start meaning our prayers instead of them just being another random prayer that we say because we're told to. It's more of an individual thing that we need to conquer. If each one of us personally feels the connection and really REALLY wants Mashiach, then maybe he will come and bring us our salvation.
Listen Up Bnei Yisrael. You must recognize that everything comes from Hashem. Hashem is our Creator and Father and we must listen to him, fear him, and love him because he has a plan, and it's a really good one. Don't worry because Hashem has your back as long as you listen to his commandments. Be good people because when you get up here, I'm going to ask you if you tried to be the best person you could be. See you guys when Mashiach comes.
Mashiach won't come until we are united as a people. United wouldn't mean "let's all follow one sect of Judaism" it would mean that we have respect for each other as a nation. We have to realize that different opinions make the world go round. The one thing that could unite us is respect, and though it would take a while for us to earn it, we all must do our part to make sure it exists. - Sylvie
